Snell House offers five comfortable apartments. The house is named in honor of Nobel laureate Dr. George D. Snell (1903 - 1996) of the Jackson Laboratory who lived here with his family. Located on quiet tree-lined Atlantic Avenue, Snell House is one-half block from the historic Bar Harbor Shore Path and within easy walking distance of downtown shops and amenities. In Summer, enjoy lush flowering shrubs, expansive lawns, and maybe a fresh tomato from the garden. Acadia National Park is a mere five-minute drive for year-round enjoyment.
Apartments range in size from a single-bedroom efficiency, a single-bedroom with living area and large upstairs loft, to large two-bedroom units, all with full kitchen. A large, handicapped-friendly, single-bedroom apartment with kitchen and sit-down shower is also available. Rates for the high season range from $900 to $1200 per week. Fall, Winter and Spring rentals also are available on a weekly or monthly basis at off-season rates.
Children are welcome, and though we love animals, pets are not. We have a no smoking policy except on the front porch. Snell House accepts all major credit cards
